FONTAINEBLEAU AND BARBIZON
The family home of the kings of France, a discovery of this royal house campaign which preserves the memory of Napoleon the 1st. The castle of Fontainebleau was one of the favorite residence of kings and rulers, from Francois 1st to Napoleon III. Its wonderful decoration and furniture reflect the passage of those who lived over the centuries. The apartments occupied by Napoleon 1st and those of Pope Pius VII have been recently restored. The village of Barbizon, on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest, is known by painters such Jean-Francois Millet and his friends. It is currently a residential and privileged place.
